Potassium Chloride (Coral Dip)
Potassium Chloride can be used as a prophylactic coral dip to reduce the risk of introducing hitchhiking pests from newly acquired coral frags. This is my preferred dip for SPS corals and this is the product I personally use on my own corals when dipping new frags. Unlike other dips, it is gentle enough to be used on freshly shipped frags as well.
1 TBSP (15 mL) per gallon for 30 minutes. This package contains 10 TBSP (150 mL) of Potassium Chloride powder which will prepare 10 gallons of dip. I recommend to prepare 1/2 - 1 gallon of dip at time of use (depending on the number of corals to be dipped). After acclimation, dip the corals for 30 minutes. Use an airstone or small powerhead to circulate the water during the dip.
NOTE: This is a repackaged bulk food-grade item without brand/retail label.
